Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress who is best recognized for her performances in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC TV series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington Ohio in order to settle in Los Angeles. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. The actress was able to secure a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons of 2004 and was awarded with her a Screen Actors Guild Award (with the rest of the cast) with her. Grace quit the show in 2005 to pursue the role of a greater part in film, appearing opposite Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. The actress starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in both 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) are her re-casts of the characters. Grace returned to her role as Shannon in Lost and the final episode. In 2013, Grace appears in the episode Californianation of the 6th season. She portrays Faith who's both a star-gazer and socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. As a member of the Gyllenhaal family She is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder cousin of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her career began when she was a teenager, playing small appearances in her father's films and appeared with her brother in the famous cult classic Donnie Darko (2001). Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a drama) received her nominations for Golden Globe Award. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. It was also nominated to be awarded the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
